Joshua
Chapter 12
1 These are the kings of the country that the Israelites defeated and whose land they took over, on the east side of the Jordan River, from the Arnon River to Mount Hermon, and all the eastern plains.
2 Sihon, the king of the Amorites, lived in Heshbon and controlled the land from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon River, including the middle of the river and half of Gilead, all the way to the Jabbok River, the border of the Ammonites’ land.
3 From the plain to Lake Chinneroth in the east, to the Dead Sea in the east and the road to Beth Jeshimoth, and to the south below the slopes of Pisgah.
4 The territory of Og, the king of Bashan, was one of the last places of the giants, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei.
5 They ruled over Mount Hermon, Salcah, and all of Bashan up to the territory of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and half of Gilead, which was up to the land of King Sihon of Heshbon.
6 Moses, God’s servant, and the Israelites defeated them. Moses gave the land to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh as their own.
7 Here are the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites defeated west of the Jordan River, from Baalgad in the Lebanon Valley up to Mount Halak leading to Seir. Joshua gave this land to the Israelite tribes as their own, divided among them.
8 In the mountains, valleys, flat lands, springs, deserts, and the south; the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.
9 The king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, next to Bethel, one;
10 The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one.
11 The king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
12 The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one.
13 The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one.
14 The king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one.
15 The king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one.
16 The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one.
17 The king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one.
18 The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one.
19 One king of Madon, one king of Hazor.
20 The king of Shimronmeron, one; the king of Achshaph, one.
21 The king of Taanach, one; the king of Megiddo, one.
22 The king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one;
23 The king of Dor by the sea, one; the king of the peoples at Gilgal, one;
24 The king of Tirzah, one: a total of thirty-one kings.
