About the Simplified Bible

The Simplified Bible is the whole Bible, all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, in plain, easy English. It is a simplified English version of the Holy Bible and uses the standard books, chapters and verse numbers. Every chapter has audio narration and an illustration.

Using the Simplified Bible

Everyone is free to use the Simplified Bible as they wish, for personal reading, study, teaching, churches, schools and sharing.

Commercial projects must credit the Simplified Bible. This includes books, apps, courses, products and any other work that is sold or earns money.

Linking to a verse

Every chapter has its own page, and every verse has its own link. Add #v and the verse number to the chapter’s address:

Plain text

Each chapter is also available as plain text, one verse per line, for example /text/john/3.txt. The complete Bible is available as a single file: /text/simplified-bible.txt. A summary for AI tools is at /llms.txt.
