1 Issachar had four sons: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimrom.

2 Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel, leaders of their family. They were brave and strong. During David’s time, their family had 22,600 men.

3 Uzzi’s sons were Izrahiah, and Izrahiah’s sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Ishiah, five leaders in total.

4 With them, according to their families, were 36,000 soldiers grouped by ancestors, because they had many wives and children.

5 Their relatives in all the Issachar families were brave and strong warriors, counted in their family records as 87,000 men.

6 Benjamin had three sons: Bela, Becher, and Jediael.

7 Bela had five sons: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were leaders in their family and strong warriors. Their family records showed 22,034 descendants.

8 Becher’s sons were Zemira, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, Abiah, Anathoth, and Alameth. These are all Becher’s sons.

9 The count of these men, according to their family lines and generations, leaders of their ancestors’ houses, brave warriors, was twenty thousand and two hundred.

10 Jediael’s sons were Bilhan, and Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tharshish, and Ahishahar.

11 All these were Jediael’s sons, leaders of their families, brave warriors, numbering 17,200 men ready for war and battle.

12 Shuppim and Huppim, Ir’s children, and Hushim, Aher’s sons.

13 Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum; Bilhah was their mother.

14 Manasseh’s sons were Ashriel, born from his wife, and Machir, Gilead’s father, born from his Aramean concubine.

15 Machir married Huppim and Shuppim’s sister, named Maachah; the second was named Zelophehad, who had daughters.

16 Maachah, Machir’s wife, had a son and named him Peresh; his brother was named Sheresh; the sons of Sheresh were Ulam and Rakem.

17 Ulam’s sons were Bedan. These were Gilead’s sons, Machir’s son, Manasseh’s son.

18 His sister Hammoleketh had three children: Ishod, Abiezer, and Mahalah.

19 Shemidah’s sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

20 Ephraim’s sons were Shuthelah, his son Bered, his son Tahath, his son Eladah, and another son named Tahath.

21 Zabad’s son, Shuthelah, Ezer, and Elead were killed by the people of Gath who were from that land because they tried to steal their cattle.

22 Ephraim, their father, was sad for many days, and his brothers came to make him feel better.

23 When he was with his wife, she got pregnant and had a baby boy. He named him Beriah because they had trouble in the family.

24 His daughter Sherah built lower Bethhoron, upper Bethhoron, and Uzzensherah.

25 Rephah was his son, along with Resheph, then Telah his son, and then Tahan his son.

26 Laadan’s son, Ammihud’s son, Elishama’s son.

27 Not his son, Joshua his son.

28 Their belongings and homes were in Bethel and its surrounding towns, to the east Naaran, to the west Gezer and its towns; also Shechem and its towns, all the way to Gaza and its towns.

29 Near Manasseh’s land, were the cities of Bethshean, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor. The descendants of Joseph, Israel’s son, lived in these places.

30 Asher’s children were Imnah, Isuah, Ishuai, Beriah, and their sister, Serah.

31 The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel, and Malchiel was the father of Birzavith.

32 Heber had children: Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and their sister Shua.

33 Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These are Japhlet’s children.

34 Shamer’s sons were Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram.

35 Helem’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.

36 Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, and Imrah.

37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.

38 Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.

39 Ulla’s sons were Arah, Haniel, and Rezia.

40 All these were Asher’s children, leaders of their family, brave and strong. They were top among rulers. The total of their skilled warriors was 26,000 men.
